Herstyler: High pressure sales, over priced and falsehood re: refund for credit card

Having purchased from Herstylers before & being pleased with the straightener and products I tried hair extensions for fun at the associates' request. I liked the look but when told how much 1 set cost, I knew I could not afford them as he recommended I buy 2 sets. Also included was a bag full of other products. He said I could do layaway. Final cost: $650.00. I almost fell over. I put $374 down & left. I returned later to try & cancel the sale, even though it said, "Exchange only." I thought that because I hadn't brought the product home they would recredit my account & the buyers remorse clause. The associate called the owner who said that he couldn't recredit my account because the POS machine didn't have that function. He did give me the extensions and more products. I've since heard that the extensions are WILDLY overpriced, even for what I paid and no one's ever heard of a machine that can't recredit a card.

I purchased herstyler curl iron yesterday for $100.00 at the mall. It was over priced since I see the one online same products for $40.

Do not buy a herstyler ceramic flat iron

I bought the ceramic flat iron from the EX in Toronto. It's a piece of *** The sales guy original used it to curl my pony tail which looked good. But when I used it to straighten my hair, it did nothing but pull every strand of hair. Plus, I had to go over the small pieces too many times before it was actually straight - took me twice as long to straighten my hair compared to my chi. It also left brown marks on the so called 100% ceramic plate. When I tried to return it (after paying to get back into the ex) he said there are no refunds and threw their vitamin e hair serum in my face to shut me up. After arguing with him and the manager, there was nothing they would do. Paid $90 for it. Spend the extra more and buy a chi - don't buy her styler!!!!!

I also bought mine at the Ex because the lady made it look so easy. - that's not the case!

Ive used others that are a lot more effective! To top it off it does not now heat up consistently and I've only had it for 8 months - perhaps mine is just defective - but will be taking it in - lets see how good they are with exchanges....

I've bought one, and let me tell you, mine works amazingly, and i got mine for $40! Maybe your specific one was bad? :?

Herstyler, can be bought from Folica.com for 100.00, no 200.00 at the mall

i like my herstyler, they overcharge for the products. you can purchase the exact same flatiron for 100.00 @***.com instead of the 200.00 the fly-by-night people want in the mall. and Folica has an excellent return policy, and money back ! but where can you purchase the shampoo's and conditioneer's as they are fantastic for the florida humidity. this is the first shampoo/conditioneer and flat iron that has ever worked on my hair, in florida, and i have lived here all my life. Just don't purchase from the mall's they rip you off price wise.

Herstyler grande curl. Wire melted, nearly killed me!

Whilst using a herstyler grande curl for the fifth time since i purchased it,it started fizzing, then smoke rose from the curling wand and it erupted in a shower of sparks! This could have resulted in serious head and facial burns and my death by electricution had i not seen the smoke and sparks in the mirror and immediatly threw it on the floor and switched the eletricity off! Anyone thinking of buying a product from a herstyler kiosk - please dont! They are a waste of money and of course offer no replacement or refund! I am now worried about the safety of others esp children, i at least am only frightened and out of pocket, the next time a herstyler blows up the person using it might not be so lucky.

I know I have a HUGE burn on my arm from the curling iron (while wearing the glove). Not even ten minutes after I had walked away from the kiosk I returned voicing my concerns of how I noticed there wasn't a clip attached to hold the hair in place and that I wouldn't be able to use it.

He informed me of how I was acting *** and would have to learn how to get used to it. I took it home and tried and since I have layers in my hair it works to no avail. Useless.

We must take this company or at least their curling iron down. I can't speak for the straightener.

Herstyler flat iron

I bought the Herstyler straightener at the "Her Styler" ( www.herstyler.com )Kiosk at the Quail Spring Mall (Edmond ok) last week for $108.38 I proceeded to check online for information on the company and even visited the manufacturer's website, http://herstyler.com. So I Googled the company and found nothing by complaints and bad reviews on the company from different cities and states. I went back to the mall to return the straightener. They didn't let me to return it. I got nothing but attitude. I also noticed a "no refund "on the generic receipt that was obviously written in, after I paid. The salesgirl never mentioned anything, not once, about a return policy, nor did she explain it to me, have me sign anything about me understanding their return policy nor was it any where no the papers she gave to me after I made my purchase. It's a really bad experience. I also complained to the customer service manager. She can't do anything to help me out. What can I do? I feel I bought products from dishonest people.

I was in the Quail Springs Mall in Oklahoma City, and for the first time I got "pulled" into one of the kiosk. I told the lady that I was in the middle of having to get my hair cut because back in Dec.

I went in for highlights in my hair which messed my hair up bad. It no longer takes hair die and the ends are so fried, that we have to cut a little at a time each month. SO this lady told me that with her straighter,it was healthy. She only did the half of my head.

It looked nice. but I asked her not to do that "steam" iron. I have natural curly hair, and I do not blow dry it. She did it anyways.

Which I will admit, it looked nice after. The lady wanted to charge me $499.00 and I told her no, then she said she will throw in all her hair care stuff, it was all natural and that I have a life time supply. I just have to buy the life time warranting for $199.00 but I have to keep it a secret and that she will give me her 25% discount for the day only if I buy it. I still said no.

I went home and washed my hair because one half was done. As it was being air dried. I noticed that same patch of hair was so fried and bracken off, that I can not even run a pick threw it. I washed it again the next day, even switched my shampoo, it still was damaged beyond fixen.

Just came to my conclusion that I have to get my hair now cut past my ears, and start over. This straightener is not worth the price or the heartache.

I went to Quail Springs mall today in Oklahoma City, I was amazed by the sales pitch the lady used. She did my hair and it looked amazing.

I was interested in buying the product for me and another person. She said for the price of two she would give it to me for $299. I told her I dont have that much. She said okay I can give you one for $99.00.

I told her that sounds great but I would have to come back and pay for it after my movie and I needed to make sure I had enough first to take my son to see the movie. She started getting upset and throwing in free products. She then showed me flat irons in a drawer that she said were old and was replaced with new flat irons for customers who had an issue with the first one. I kept telling her I would come back and left.

My intentions were to come back and buy however when I was waiting for the movie to start i did my research on my phone and look at the reviews. I decided I was not going to fall victim to their sales pitch. When I left the theater and walk past she stopped me and ask me to come purchase. I saw another person about to make a purchase and I showed her reviews and we both said no thanks.

The lady kept saying rude things well I guess yall will be the ones without the healthy hair. OH Well. Bad customer service they have.

To anyone who wants a refund I would suggest to keep nagging them especially in front of other customers. They definately do not way to lose a sale.

I went to Quail Springs mall in OKC to a kiosk and they fried my hair. I noticed it kept frizzing but the guy put some stuff on it making the frizz go away, but I noticed when i got home and washed my hair, that it was fried probably beyond repair.

. Thankfully, i had found that you could purchase it thru Amazon for $59 or i probably would have bought one before i realized the damage it would do.

I went to Dixie outlet in Mississaga ON. A man called himself the manager did curls on my hair with herstyle, which was not a wow, so I did not want to buy it even when he tried to enticed me to a "deal".

He lied to me that the curl would last for almost two days and he combed my hair up and down, trying to show how resilent the curls were. He wanted me to feel how my hair different after 'treatment' - which of course would be softer even if you put cooking oil on your hair. He used all lousy tricks (such as asking me which color of the styler I like and insisted me have choosen the black one when I said I care only the function), but he could not convince me. When I googled the review, he insisted me looked at the company website which only showed positive comments.

After I thought again, I decided not to buy it. He then became upset and quite rude by saying that I knew how wonderful my hair looked like but I did not wanted to pay the high price, which was shocking to me when I looked at my poor hair!

I walked away and drove home in an hour - I found all the curls were gone!!! I went to the website again and found there was no way for me to put a comment to stop those dreamer like me who wants a beautiful hair)

I live in chattanooga and just like every one else she told me it was originally 200.00 but she gave it to me for 100 and she even said bout the pple across from me this is between me and u no one will get this deal and she threw in shampoo and cond as a gift when I got home to use it the velvet from the box had put black shed on it it pulled my hair out at the ends and it just looks cheap. I noticed my receipt says unconditional warranty and no refunds exchanges only and she told me I had a life time warranty on it if it broke ten years from now I could bring it and get a free one but as I read online that's impossible and it says in my manual I got to sign up for my warranty I guess if I can't get my money back then I'll exchange for a cu iron I think they can't do refunds bc their owner is in a foreign country idk but it's a scam

Guest

i bought the iron for 97 and now i feel really bad :sigh

Guest

I was also aggressively approached by a foreign man (He said he was Israeli, but he looked very Palestinian-Syrian to me) Anyway, he did and tried EVERYTHING to get me to buy this ceramic styler and I had to literally LIE to him to get him to allow me to leave the kiosk. I was just on my way to get a lemonade and he literally led me over to his kiosk and tries to sell his "bull".

After he allowed me to leave (only because I said I would go get my husband and he would buy it for my birthday) I took the escalators up and over this kiosk to get back to my husband so I wouldn't have to pass him again.

He literally made me feel very uncomfortable with his tactics. NO MEANS NO IN AMERICA, even when a woman says it buddy!

This is super late because my sister just got swindled into buying one today and sounds exactly like the guy that tried to sell me a flat iron about two years ago at GSP :( Sorry that happened!

Guest

I was aggresively solicitated at Quail Springs Mall today. I thought the demo results were impressive but the sales tactics and price out of line.

I didn't buy, as I wanted to check it out online. They did tell me, however, that I could return it to any HerStyler kiosk for a full refund or mail it for $12 to the manufacturer.

Guest

I think you all had bad experiences with deceptive sales people...but the product itself is AWESOME! I love it and Herstyler's customer service is fantastic.

I highly recommend it.

PS: Its sad that the only people who go on these types of things are people who need a place to vent...

Her Styler - deceptive practices

My daughter was buying gifts at the "Her Styler" ( www.herstyler.com )Kiosk at the Southland Center (Taylor MI). The sales person wasn't clear what the total was going to be and kept making repeated charges on her card (saying that they "were having problems with the machine"). What my daughter didn't realize until it was too late, was that all of the charges went through and she had ended up spending nearly $600.00 for a couple of straighteners and some other junk.

Of course, the manager's response was simply that they have a "no returns" policy.

Looking at the hand written receipt, I see that they charged her $380.99 for two straightening irons. What a ripoff.

Yea, the total was on the hand written receipt that was tucked into her bag as she left. That's how she found out what happened.

Bought the ROYALEPRO straightener and the product lasted for less than a month. The cord was attached to a very flimsy plastic.

It also shorted my bathroom. I tried to return it but they wanted to charge me usd 29 more to replace. Marketed as a high*end product but is very cheaply made.

Very disappointed. Do not buy this product.

Well it looks like I'm not alone in the rip offscam! I paid 106.00 and ddidn't realize it was a no refund policy.

Mine were purchased at the mall in winston-salem,nc. Don't get scammed like i did. I wish i would have done my research.

I feel like i have literally been robbed but i can't blame them. I just hope the word gets out about them enough so nobody else will have to go through this

Omg! That makes me mad!

I worked for a place but selling hair extensions. She sold her styler shampoo and conditioner with an oil for 150.00. Amazon shampoo and conditioner is 2.80! And other prices also way lower .

Also she sold cortex flat iron. About 190? The. Told me to act like I was giving a deal by saying OK...99.00 and its yours.

I did love the iron but amazon has same... like the digital titanium... 89 or 69 on sale. But honestly.

I love the cortex iron...just go on Amazon for all products. Way cheaper!

pyt hair extensions are ***. I feel like I got scammed.

I bought extensions and a straightener from them at a kisko in the fox

valley mall in aurora, IL. The lady talked me into buying hair extensions that don't even match my hair and she said that they have a life time warranty. when I got them home I tried styling them with my chi straightener. it was impossivle to style then with it.

I went back to Try to exchange them for blonder extentions and I told them that the lady said I could exchange them whenever I wanted for new ones. They said they did not have blonder extensions and that only the clips have a life time warranty. I was PISSED. I told the manager about the misleading employee and he reassured me that he would fire the misleading employee and order me blonder extensions.

he said that theIneeded a pyt straightener to straighten the extentions and said he would call me when blonder onescame in. its been a year and they haven't called. I visit monthly and the manager refuses to talk to me. I call, leave voicemails and never get a call back.

I say the lady they said they fired there last night. and not to mention their straightener is *** too

it pulls out my hair and frys it. the free year of hair stying is also a lie too.

they won't style it the way you want it and only do it to attract more girls into buying it. they flatter you into it because they.know every girl.like to be told their beautiful

Guest

I purchased 2 Her Stylers and the Oil with Vitamin E. Total 300.00 from a Kiosk in Los Angeles.

The sales person kept pushing more and more products on me and would not stop she started begging me just to try on hair extensions. I said NO- Her boss kept telling her push push I said what is your problem I liked the iron so much because she curled me hair so fast and so well and the oil was amazing. But once I got home it was not the same IRON at all or OIL.

No you can not return the items I found out. I did not warranty my products I am not giving any more money.

My friend and I bought our herstyler from the flat irons mall in co a couple years ago and I completely loved it! A few days ago mine broke

And not being too upset I thought I could go back to the colorful kitty

To get an Exchange for a brand new one ( since I was told I would have

A lifetime warranty). Little did I know that they no Longer work at that mall. There is now a new company selling them Called Royale. They didn't want to give me a new one but only sell me a more expensive one n pay the difference. Well of course why do I want to buy a new one when I'm supposed to get a brand new one. I also tried this at the colorful seasons kiosk in a diffrent mall. Same thing happened and theywanted me to pay. I called corporate at herstyler and still not luck just a snotty lady. What do I do now? Does colorful kitty still exist? I do not know where to contact them because every phone number I find no one answers. Do not buy from them. They are rip-offs and liars and overpriced. I will now probably be going to ulta to find me a new one. :cry

Guest

Never ever trust them..i was in dufferin mall toronto..they pulled me curled my hair hich looked very beautiful, so i decided to buy the he said it costed 250 and since i was not ready to pay so much, i refused the product and wanted to go away , the he said he will giv it for 120$ with so many things free..so i bought it..but after i came home and checked the reviews i realized the straightner i bough was just $30 in other stores. Please dont buy from them..Tehy will talk to you so nicely that they will make you spend!! business tactics!!

Guest

Well i went to the mall and this lady pulled me and tried out this curling iron on me it curled my hair amazingly! She said she would give it to me with a flat iron for $300 and I was like great and thank god I didn't have money or else I would've bought then but after research I am really glad she also mentioned she was from Israel and was also working at a kiosk at dead sea and people say it is from the same company or something! So just watch out :?
